From frequent disagreements to domestic violence, there are all sorts of reasons why couples decide to separate. In Belleville, and across the rest of Illinois, it is imperative for those who are preparing to divorce to work toward a positive outcome while minimizing any potential problems. Although divorce may seem overwhelming and some coouples are not sure how to begin the process, there are times when separation is the best way to move forward. However, making divorce as simple as possible is essential, especially for those who have children together.

In late 2015, singer Jermaine Jackson was involved in a domestic incident with his wife, Halima Rashid. Rashid was taken into custody for reportedly biting Jackson after he spit on her. The case against Rashid, who was allowed to leave after posting bail, was later dismissed.

According to sources, 46-year-old Rashid recently filed for a divorce from 61-year-old Jackson, bringing an end to the couple’s marriage after 12 years. While Jackson has children from other marriages, he does not have any children with Rashid, who is also asking for spousal support.

When it comes to divorce cases, there are many factors that can have an impact on the outcome. For example, those with a high net worth may have to deal with complicated financial matters, while those with children may struggle with custody issues and child support. For people who are getting ready to split up with their spouse, reaching out to a knowledgeable attorney who understands the ins and outs of family law could be beneficial.
